| Vocational Training Centre funded by State Govt
Objective:
To train adult disabled persons in some profitable trades/ crafts so as to make them capable of earning their livelihood
No.of VTCs :
A present four Vocational Training Centers (VTCs) have been established with funding by the State Govt. Three VTCs are run by the respective Association, viz.
- Orissa Association for the Blind (for the visually impaired);
- Orissa Association for the Deaf (for the hearing impaired) and
- Orissa Association for the Orthopaedically Handicapped (for the orthopaedically handicapped).
One VTC is being run by the Mahila Vikas Sambaya Nigam. 141 persons are trained in these Centres every year .
Budget Provision :
Rs. 8.00 lakh is proposed in the Annual Plan for 2006-2007 under the Scheme.
Vocational Training Centre funded by Govt. of India
Vocational Training Centres are being run in the State by different NGOs with funding from the Govt. of India to the extent of Rs.44.27 lakhs per annum.
