WCD requires to have a local representative at every level to understand and help
Activities for projects/Schemes operational under WCD

Programme Officers
1
Help State Social Welfare Secretary or Director, SW in ensuring effective implementation of ICDS programme.
2
Formulation of State Policy with regard to details of implementation of ICDS programme in the state.

Formulation of proposals for location of new ICDS projects keeping in view the needs of SCs, STs or Slum dwellers.

Ensure coordination with the Central Govt. on one hand and with other Departments within States on the other so that various components of the

Programme coule be provided smoothly and continuously.Advance planning with respect to training facilities available in the State anddeputation of various ICDS functionaries to various training institutes.

Ensure that selection of AWWs who are the focal points of delivery of services.
7
Selection and posting of other supervisory staff.
8
Coordination with health Department for eliminating delay in posting of medical and para-medical staff and for their orientation and reorientation in ICDS.
9
Monitoring of the programme at the state level.
10
Reviewing and analyzing the progress reports.
11
Compilatin of statistical review and evaluation of the programme.

To induce other departments and agencies in the state to introduce child welfare programmes in the ICDS project areas.

To liaise with the voluntary agencies.
14
Undertaking tours to ICDS projects to ensure that services are effectively rendered.
15
To prepare and plan new avenues for motivating people to participate in the programme.
Additional Responsibilities
1
Coordinate with Rural Development Department; Education Department; Urban Development Department for various developmental works of AWCs

Liaise with DRCs
3
Maintain close contact with Regional Officers of food and nutrition and mobile food extension counters.
4
Identify suitable individuals/ agencies for preparation of materials in local languages for CDPOs Resource Centres.
5
Coordinate/ arrange joint common integrated orientation courses for block level, circle level village/ grass root level functionaries.
6
Ensure that community growth chartes are supplied to each AWCs.
7
Ensure that new schemes like Mahila Samridhi Yojana, Mahila Vikas Yojna and Adolescent Girls schemes are implemented.
