Orissa Disability Pension (ODP) is a State Government initiative and was introduced in 1984 on the 2nd of October.
Objective:
- To provide sustenance allowance for the persons with disabilities.
- The beneficiaries receive an amount of Rs.100/- per month as pension.
- The amount has been enhanced to Rs.200/- p.m per beneficiary in March 2006-07.
Eligibility :
- Persons who are five years of age or above and are totally blind, Orthopaedically handicapped, mentally retarded or affected by cerebral palsy are covered under this scheme.
- Maximum income of the family is Rs.11,000/- per anuum.
Budget Provision :
- During 2005-06, there was a budget provision of Rs.1580.00 lakhs under Non Plan for the scheme.
Coverage target :
- The target under this scheme was 1,25,000 w.e.f. 1.7.2005 .
